Brief introduction of the world-renowned scholar Allama Syed Shaba Al-Reza Zaidi

I was born on 15/2/1962 in Mauza Thari Mirwah District Khairpur Mir’s. I was named after my grandfather Syed Imam Ali Zaidi. My father’s name was Maulana Syed Nasir Hussain Zaidi Aala Allah Maqama
My second name was Syed Shabia Al-Reza Zaidi, my maternal grandfather named after his great-grandfather.

I did primary and secondary in my city. I received the education of the Holy Qur’an in the Ahle Sunnat mosque from the late Maula Allah Jadyu, while I took the early Persian classes of Qibla and Kaaba from Maulana Hasan Askari Sadrul Fazil Aala Allah Maqama. While I was taught the Holy Qur’an by Maulana Muhammad Musa Najafi, the Most High, I continued to benefit from these teachers even after I went to madrasa.

After passing matriculation in 1977, he joined his father in business. And in 1980, he entered Madrasah Jafaria Mehdiabad, Wagharji. Up to that time, education up to Sharia Islam was taught in Jafaria University, which I completed. At that time, one of the special things about Jafaria College was that at that time, teachers also organized training along with education. For example, Maulana Ghulam Mehdi Sahib used to read Tafsir of the Qur’an at evening time. Maulana Abbas ala Allah Maqama used to teach us the Qur’aat al-Rashida al-Balagha and the Nahj-ul-Balagha at four o’clock in the morning in the Waghreji Masjid. And at the same time, during the holidays of the birth and martyrdom days of all the innocents, they used to encourage us to remember the sayings of the innocents, peace and blessings be upon them, and on the day of their birth or martyrdom, they used to come and listen to us, and they used to get one rupee per hadith. They used to ask questions about grammar and logic in between and if someone read a hadith wrongly, his money would be cut off. The parts of the hadiths and sermons of Nahj-ul-Balagha that we memorized during this period are still useful to us today

Among my teachers at that time. Hazrat Hujat-ul-Islam wal-Muslimeen Maulana Ghulam Mehdi Najafi, Maulana Abbas Ali Najafi, Maulana Manzoor Hussain Sahib Mumtaz-ul-Afazal, Maulana Sajjad Ali, Maulana Sikandar Ali Lutfi Aala Allah were the maqams. While I am happy to say that our teachers were not only teachers but also mentors. Qibla and Kaaba Maulana Abbas Ali Najafi taught us many books which were not included in the course. Masha Allah, he used to teach us Nahjul Balagha at four o’clock in the morning.

Then after that I went to Karachi and continued to teach in Madrasa Darul Hikma PCHS Society whose principal was Hazrat Salam and Muslim Maulana Syed Razi Jafar Naqvi Damat Barakata.

I continued to teach there for some time and read some part of Sharh Lama under Maulana Shaheed Ayub Sabri. After that I went to Africa for preaching. Here in Congo I met Sheikh Abdul Karim Al-Faqih who was a scholar from Lebanon. I studied Nahj-ul-Balagha from them because I didn’t have any textbooks there, so I kept using the Arabic dictionary and Nahj-ul-Balagha. Then in 1994, when I was in Kampala, Uganda, by the grace of God, I was blessed to have three good teachers. They were staying there on behalf of the Madras organization.

  • Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Mahdi Abbas
  • Hujjatul Islam Abdul Zahra Aliasari
  • Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Abu Mahdi Ghadiri

These three scholars who are still in touch with me were the disciples of Ayatollah Grand Ayatollah Seyed Baqir Sadr Ala Allah Maqama. He also read Sharh Ibn Aqeel and used it till the circles of Syed Baqir al-Sadr. He continued to use Sharh Ibn Aqeel and other Arabic books. At the same time, he completed the construction of Imam Mehdi Sahib Al-Zaman Madrasah in Thari Mirwa and at the same time reconstructed his native Imam Bargah with the support of the community. After coming to Pakistan in 1999, Hazrat Ayatollah Allama Talib Johari joined the teaching of Aala Allah Maqama. Where he benefited from the lessons of Usul Tafsir and Usul Hadith and Sharh Tajreed and Usul Kafi etc. for about 10 years

I was fond of linguistics, so I can speak ten languages, Alhamdulillah, Lord of the worlds. I write poetry in Urdu and Sindhi language and am Sahib Diwan. I am the author of two books, one written by the name of Bilal Mohammadi and the other book titled Bisarat Zahoor. Apart from this, many books were inspired.

In the year 2013, he migrated to Thatta from Karachi. At the same time, Maulana did good deeds and taught 35 Hindu families and I am sponsoring them till today. There, Maulana’s residence house and Imam Bargah were built where the children of nine Muslim Shia families are taught Quran and Hadith. At that time, along with the construction of Sahib-ul-Zaman Jamia Masjid, Mukli Thatta, a madrassa was established there under the name of Imam Hussain Academy. Earlier it was in Karachi, but due to non-payment of expenses, it was closed for some time. And at this time this seminary is established in Imam Hussain Academy Mukli and there are 14 students here.

He built mosques in many areas in Sindh, in which the first mosque was built in Tando Ghulam Ali in 1982. He conducted several debates and enlightened more than two hundred people about the school of Shia. Now Alhamdulillah there are three Shia mosques and people regularly hold all the gatherings and ceremonies on the birth and martyrdom of the innocents in the prime.
